Seven is greater than one...

I ran across this on video on a blog I read. One, I thought it was a really sweet video. Two, I think we need to be invited to use our imaginations on a more regular basis as Christians in regard to answering questions like, "How do you live as a disciple of the risen Jesus?" This video helps me use my imagination. Maybe it will help you use yours too!

  1. This was cool, Tony. I like that it's put so simply. Since our pastor, Paco, took the reigns, our church has had something like a resurrection in being the church 7 days a week in just 4 years time. It can be done. One huge step that began this process for us is that our pastors met with a community development organization and apologized to them for not being more available in the past, and offering our congregation to staff neighborhood clean-ups, host community meetings and help organize activities. That practical step has led to a ton of opportunities to make an impact. People on the outside know our church as a group of people who do good; a lot of times they seem surprised that Christians had it in 'em. :)

  2. Yeah, I bet. Like, "What, ya'll practice something other than judgment? Weird!"
That's cool. I know that a group of people in our church had a similar meeting w/ a guy though I'm not sure it had the same practical thrust. I think they were more interested in asking the guy about what the next 5 to 10 years looked like as far as community plans and trends go.
